WiFi offload

In early 2010, Softbank CEO Masayoshi Son was one of the first to call for WiFi to offload the data stress on mobile networks. iLand6 has teamed with GoNet Systems of Tel Aviv to provide superior WiFi products for Japanese carriers, as reported in Nikkei on August 6, 2012.

As one of the most advanced global cellular markets, Japan was one of the first to suffer from heavy data congestion causing poor user experience, and sharply increasing network costs.  Wi-Fi traditionally suffers from poor performance in "noisy" urban environments, so the cellular operators searched for a Wi-Fi solution based on smart antenna beamforming technology.

iLand6 and GoNet Systems worked together to pass an extensive series of performance trials.  The system was able to deliver full speed FTP download to a smart phone located 1.5 Km form the MBW base station.
Following the trials, the GoNet base stations were deployed at stadiums, convention cneters, and central urban locations, enabling the cellular operators to slow expansion of their expensive 3G and 3.9G equipment.
